Cricketers, Sir's and more

So as usual its been a busy time at the Belmont, just last night we entertained Leicester Business Voice, a local networking group who work to voice current issues affecting businesses in Leicester to the city council. Their event, Building a team for business,involved Philip Hodson, Paul Nixon and England cricketer Matthew Hoggard.

Indeed Mathew Hoggard is not the only well known face we've had at the Belmont recently, last week it was our pleasure and privilage to host the retirement dinner of Sir Alec Jeffreys -The pioneer of DNA profiling- Sir Alec had guests fly in from Hong Kong and New York to congratulate him on an outstanding career, and to wish him all the very best for a long and happy retirement.

We've also been very lucky to see recent re-surfacing works taking place on the New Walk.

This outstanding attribute to Leicester, steeped in history, runs between the old leicester racecourse now Victoria Park right down past the Belmont & New walk Museum into the heart of the city. The resurfacing is ensuring the New Walk stays looking magnifficent!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                                                      

We recently held our Wedding showcase event at the hotel, with a range of preferred suppliers exhibiting, and a chance for curious brides & grroms to get a feel of what the hotel is like when set up for wedding events, we're very pleased to say we've had several bookings and 2013 looks like a great year for weddings at the Belmont
